Are you ready for self-discovery?

At some point in all of our lives we should/have to, do a self-inventory. Your growth will depend on this. I am not talking about monetary goals, because things/assets/ success will never make you feel truly complete as a human being, content with self, confident in your own skin, proud about the type of energy you are spreading into the universe. Are you truly happy with who you see when you look in the mirror? It is so easy to point the finger, victimize yourself, or have excuses ready if asked about the thought process behind your decisions/actions, how you have treated others, or worse, how you allow others to treat you. Are you impulsive? Do you live beyond your means? Do you seek instant satisfaction? Does your social media status define your happiness/life? Do entertain your toxic behaviors? Is your smile genuine? Do you isolate? Are you hiding from your real issues behind accomplishments? Have you met your internal monster? We all have one. I can go on and on, and I can also tell you from experience that this task of self-awareness is not easy. When I took the time to meet my monster, I was disgusted, and every day I fight that battle, because my monster is always itching to come out and play. Lying to me, hoping I numb my true feelings/emotions/empathy. I am hustler/ambitious, but the most meaningful journey/decision in my life was when I was finally ready for self-discovery, without it I will never embrace true self-love. This doesn’t make us perfect, this doesn’t mean we won’t make anymore mistakes, this means we are venturing into self-acceptance, and willing to work on the most important person, SELF. I wanted to get to the root of why I have reacted/react the way I do. I wanted to see where I went wrong. I was ready to make real changes in my actions/character. The end goal is peace in my heart, content thoughts when I take my last breath. I am still a working progress. Thank God for loving me regardless of my flaws, and shortcomings, but knowing that is not enough. I needed to take responsibility, and advantage of his mercy in the right ways. I can’t complain about the consequences, I have to learn from the past to ensure a present/future I am truly proud of. No disguises. I can’t enhance my attributes without working on the side we all love to hide. So, if you can identify after reading this, make that list, look in the mirror, and begin a true self-discovery, so that you can work on being the very best version of YOU. God Bless.
