The gift that keeps on giving…

I am co-owner of a Home Care Agency, and way before this, I have always worked personally with the public. Customer Service is not easy guys, no matter what field you are in. You have to deal with several different personalities on a daily basis, their concerns, complaints and needs. As my old boss used to tell me “Beatriz you can’t make everyone happy”, I surely do try! I am very firm when need be, but even when I get upset, I brush it off, so that the next time we meet face to face, I can be as genuine as usual. I do the pop-up visits for my company, and I truly love it, because my mission is to spread positive vibes, and leave my patient with a smile on their face. However, this year has not been easy for me (grieving) and other situations in my personal life had interrupted my ability to create smiles for others. Anyhow, I wanted to end the year with gratitude, and bring that positive energy so many need at this time of year. Those that can’t get up and go, like me, and those wonderful caregivers who make it all possible, so we stretched what we could to be able to gift them all with a little something, but material things are not the gift that keeps on giving. I prepared my list and went on to personally bring the gifts one by one. As I sat down in each home listening to my patients vent, get excited by the visit, tell me stories of their youth, hug in the end and wish each other blessings in the new year (I found my mojo) in deep observations of the domino effect I had created, not only for them, but me. When I leave a patient with a smile and in good spirits, I am also leaving my caregiver with a smile and in good spirits, I am now walking out with a smile and in good spirits, and we are each spreading that amazing energy and love on to our loves ones, and anyone we cross paths with, and that is why I called it the gift that keeps on giving. Human interaction is necessary guys! I know a lot is going on in the world, and it is scary, and we are all trying to stay as healthy as possible, but don’t allow that to harden your heart, or stop you from showing love to another human being. I could have mailed the cards and gift, I could have followed up on the phone, but it wouldn’t feel the same. So if you are reading, DO NOT end the year without investing some of your time with those who need it the most. God Bless.
