The Joy A Snowstorm Brings

Wow! Just the title makes me giggle, thinking about all the people who hate this weather, especially friends & family who blame these storms on me, because they know I wait eagerly for these moments every year. I am starring out the window as I type enjoying the view. Winter has always been my favorite season. I prefer the dress code for the winter, amazing vibes, electric energy, and the genuine little kid smile it puts on my face. People wonder why, if I have screws in my leg, and go through excruciating pain in the winter, but it’s the feeling and memories it brings me to. I honestly don’t have many good childhood memories, but there’s something about watching the snow come down, which brings me back to those days I’d beg my mother to let me go outside, and I didn’t have any gloves, so I would find a pair of mismatched socks, and put as many layers of clothes on as possible, to run outside and start a snowball fight, or build a snowman without a care in the world. I felt invincible, powerful and immune to any sickness my mother would nag about. As I grew older, especially at my lowest points, the joy a snowstorm brings, is still an inevitable, uncontrollable feeling, I hope I never get too old for, or lose sight of.
