He Seemed Confused & Desperate!

So, I was in a bit of a rush at the grocery store, but did not want to leave without getting some roses for my students. As I waited in line, I saw a man with a confused facial expression, and desperation in his eyes. I truly need to work on minding my business, but I was too curious as he mentally compared three different types of flowers arrangements. I asked “what is the occasion?”, and to my surprise he answered “I pissed off my girlfriend, she was calling and I wasn’t picking up”. I couldn’t hold my laugh in at first, and I wasn’t alone in the laughter, two women in line before me starting laughing too. We all looked at his options like (yeah, no, those won’t do), because as women (we know). I dared to ask him what he can he afford. Now, don’t get me wrong readers, I know it’s the thought that counts, and you can’t put a price tag on romance (unless), he makes a lot of money and is trying to bring you some quick bullshit he saw near a cash register on the way (we know and can feel the difference). By now, I am invested in helping him put a smile on his girlfriends face, and hopefully get the second chance he seems so desperate for, plus, the old romantic soul in me, the poet in me, had been inspired by this gentleman. He did not dispute our comments nor opinions, as a matter a fact, once he said he could afford it, I made him go bigger. Crazy, but I also really wanted to write in the card for him, but then it would not have been genuine (I hope he did good), well part of me does. The women in me left the grocery store wondering about the true reasons (you know), whatever he left out! Now, I want to know why he didn’t pick up the phone? Is he cheating? Was he truly busy? Did we help a fucking jerk? Wait, let me be fair (maybe), she’s a crazy bitch! Maybe, he’s been stressing, and just wants peace when he walks in the home from a long day at work, or (maybe), he never makes time, and all of a sudden he was forced to make time in order to be welcomed back. Anyhow, what do you guys think of this? Are you laughing right now? Feel free to laugh at me too, because just look at the shit I think about. What do you guys think?
